The majority of my students have grown up in the small, rural town in which my school resides. Many have never traveled outside of our community. Despite their geographic isolation, my students dream big. Their lofty goals include that of being photo journalists, humanitarians, professionals in the medical field, artists, and veterinarians - lots of veterinarians. Many students are already working hard to develop their visions for themselves in the future. Other students, while they have great aspirations, stumble in taking the steps in the present that are necessary to achieve their goals in the future. Not only do my students vary in their goals, but they also vary in their academic capacity. My classrooms are filled with both Exceptional Children and Academically & Intellectually Gifted students. My lessons suit the needs of all of my students - and the physical atmosphere of the classroom should contribute to their wide range of needs as well.
