The students at my school are one word--diverse! Representing over 40 nations across the globe, they come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. 74.4% of our 1200 middle school students qualify for free and reduced lunch--meaning we almost qualify as a Title 1 school, but almost does not count. 40% do not speak English as a first language. Despite the statistics that say our school should not be successful, our scores say otherwise, proving that good teaching and relationships with kids matter. This is not an easy school--but it is one that is worth believing and investing in.
