My students are excited to dive into the lab and use the hands on activities to learn. They want to be able to work with good equipment safely to learn about the world around them in a meaningful way. They come from diverse backgrounds: some poor, others very well off. Many of them realize that high school is their opportunity to change their lives, to get scholarships, go to college or technical school and succeed. Others will buy into my class through the lab activities and can become excited about school and decide to make better choices for their future. The ability to safely teach chemistry to my students while bringing science alive for them is paramount in my classroom.

About my class
