The program I teach is called the "Multi-Categorical Program". I have 16 students with varying disabilities. My students are in high school and range between 14 and 19 years old. The term "Multi-Categorical" means that I have four students with autism, eight students with cognitive impairments, two students with other health impairments, one student who has a physical impairment, and one student who is blind. Without their "labels", I have 16 students who are striving to be just like every other high school student in the building. The students attend a public high school with about 1300 other students. While there are over 30 extracurricular activities for students to participate in, my students struggle to find their niche. They are 16 of the hardest working students in the school and they love to come to school. Learning is a great challenge for all 16 students and they give their best effort day in and day out which makes me love to come to school as well.
