Who says you shouldn't read to older kids? I teach reading and writing to sixth graders in a low income school in Illinois, and they love when they are read to. Over 90% of our students receive free lunch. Most of their parents work long hours and are not fluent in English. So who read to them growing up? Who will read to them now?
