In an era of instant gratification and computer gaming, we see a need to provide our students with real life, interactive approaches to problem solving in the area of science. Our goal is to provide our students with hands-on science projects that use their imagination and challenge their scientific knowledge. Our objective is to teach the key scientific principles of motion and forces, as well as to excite them about Science in general. Creating a fun, yet challenging environment of problem solving will give our students a good feel for bringing an idea from conception to a competitive reality. We work in a low socio-economic and predominantly minority area where less than 2% participate in outside clubs or organizations that participate in similar activities. Few of the students know of any role models in the area of science, and therefore do not undertake any problem solving or experimentation.
