Teaching students how to embrace math and writing is my main objective. Once a child no longer fears math/writing they can let their guard down to write freely or be able to make mathematical errors and find them. Using dry erase boards and the markers make it easier for me to help them (as well as allows me to be a tree-hugger). Having a supply of dry erase markers make these tasks more enjoyable and easier. This will cause fewer distractions when one marker dies (just grab another). Sharpening pencils is not only noisy, but time consuming. Color Coding math improves a child's ability to follow their steps in math, helping them understand and grasp where their train of thought is. Having the ability to prove our steps and thoughts is an important element of improving our communication skills. We communicate through words/sentences and numbers every day of our life.
