We live in a military influenced town in Washington state. Our state has made extreme budget cuts to our education system. Our district is feeling the cuts immensely. Our school is in dire need of pencil sharpeners. All of our electric sharpeners have died and the manual ones are too difficult for my first graders to use. They hurt their hands and they often break pencils inside of them.
