Our school was one of the first elementary schools established in our city. The historical and cultural bonds to the surrounding community are strong. A number of our students walk to school. Parents and students feel a strong sense of involvement as evidenced by the success of our school fund‐ raisers and the passing of three major facility bonds. We have an average enrollment of 860 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Around 42% of our students participate in the free and reduced price lunch program. The community served by our school is both ethnically and culturally diverse, and is proud of the thirty languages spoken by families in our school population.
