ART (Acceptance, Respect, Tolerance)The Discovery Program fully includes severely handicapped K-3 students into a general classroom setting. General and special education teachers co-teach in the classroom and provide multi-modal experiences. Children of all ability levels work cooperatively at hands-on learning centers designed so every child can be challenged and successful. The classroom is a beehive of activity as academic success and development of understanding and acceptance are stressed equally. Providing the hands-on materials needed to bring academic concepts to life for such a wide range of students is a constant challenge. We want to provide materials and activities that will engage all of our students and promote cooperative learning experiences.
