I am a new teacher and will be starting my third year by relocating to a new school. The school is located in an economically-challenged, historically under-resourced area of the city of Chicago. Due to budget cuts and funding constraints, there is a limit to what the school can provide. I spend the summer scouring thrift stores, garage sales and back-to-school sales for supplies, but these run out quickly… as does my money. Since I am starting fresh in a new classroom, I am in need of some basic supplies, including books that help teach math concepts.
