There are thirty young students in my classroom who come from different socioeconomic situations. They have not had enough experience with technology and math to understand the basic math concepts they are being taught. These students are even struggling when it comes to basic addition and subtraction facts. My students come to school with great attitudes. They are excited to learn new things and they really work hard to learn at school. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. They have a strong desire to learn. They are hardworking students with minimal exposure to technology. My students are more engaged in their learning while using technology. If our class receives these hand-held games and Beat the Clock Math Practice boards, they will be excited to practice their math facts everyday. This will, in turn, increase math fluency and speed. Research shows that increasing math fluency and speed will aide students in acquiring new math skills.
