The flexible classroom, with stools, rug areas, and cozy corners for kids to concentrate, is cropping up more and more in schools. The effort to get rid of students sitting in hard desks all day is increasing and more classroom teachers are spending their own money to give their students a comfortable environment to learn. Flexible seating allows students to choose their seats or move around the classroom more often to work with groups, partners or even on their own without being confined to a desk. My students need a flexible classroom with carpet areas and flexible chairs. We are asking for two rugs, 5 flexible chairs, a printer to work on independent research and a laminator for saving projects. I cannot afford to provide these for my students but I am hoping you will help me give them opportunities to work on challenging projects in the classroom while being comfortable.
