I want my students to understand and love fractions, helping them to be more successful when working with decimals and algebra. Helping them not to fail out of high school which is why most Los Angeles students drop out, they can't pass Algebra. I believe this is rooted in their frustration beginning in 3rd and 4th grade. This is the challenge I have teaching inner city, Title One (free lunch eligible) 4th grade students.
