Our schools students come from many walks of life. They bring with them the diverse interests of their heritage as they enter into the halls of learning. Many, 75% are on Free and Reduced lunch and because of this a label of "high poverty" has been applied to them. Even though most live in a small 2-3 mile radius and their life experiences are very limited they still come to school willing and eager to learn. School is not only a place of learning it is a place where our students find a sense of belonging. Teachers here strive to help students accept one another, treat each other with kindness and believe that they can achieve anything they set their mind to. It is with that attitude I seek a means to take my students on this field trip; where they can see beyond our classrooms, their homes and neighborhoods and find solid hope for their future.
