My students live in a high poverty area and go to public school. Many students do not have access to computers or the Internet at home. We have a portable Smart Board in our classroom that often has problems, but we still enjoy lessons using my laptop keyboard. The school has 2 laptop carts shared by 10 classrooms. Many students have learning disabilities and/or lack of support for education at home. Most budget money needs to be spent on necessities for the classroom. Our generous PTA also contributes to the basic necessities and field trips we would otherwise not be able to attend.
