National Board for Professional Teaching Standards develops accomplished teachers and is committed to the ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. I achieved National Board Certification nine years ago in the area of English-Language Arts (early adolescent). My initial certification is valid for 10 years. This grant will help me complete the renewal process. I encourage my students to set high goals for themselves and be their best selves and by working towards National Board renewal, I am modeling this example to my students and showing them that learning and achievement never stops. The National Board Renewal process will allow me to evaluate my professional growth and how it has directly impacted students throughout the past 9 years. By evaluating my professional growth, I will also identify areas in which I want to further develop myself as a teacher, therefore, allowing me to set goals for future professional growth. My growth will have positive impacts on my current and future students as the most impactful teachers are dedicated to lifelong learning and purposeful, intentional teaching. Please consider helping continue my commitment to my career and professional growth in ways that are consistent with the rigorous teaching standards set forth by National Board!
