What will happen to our climate???? It is no surprise that climate change is a hot topic nowadays. It is important that our students know what is happening and WHY it is happening. The study of weather prepares our students to understand what is happening around them, to foresee where our weather and climate are headed, and to one day make CHANGES that may greatly impact our environment. I teach three different grade levels of gifted and talented students at a middle school in Louisiana. My class provides opportunities for these students to gain learning experiences they would not normally have in the regular classroom. One key ingredient to teaching gifted students is allowing them to pursue and discover their interests. Providing a hands-on learning experience does just that for them!
