My students are a phenomenal group of young people. They are intriguing, intelligent, wise, witty, and affable individuals with an affinity for arduous work. While the aforementioned superlatives are rarely assigned to middle school students in the impoverished region of Georgia that my students call home, these attributes accurately describe my young scholars. My students have had an inconsistent history of mathematics success as measured by the states standardized test. This year they are poised to change the course of their scholastic history by committing to close the gap between their academic potential with their academic output. I welcome you to partner with us in the awesome task of closing the acievement gap.
