The students in my classroom defy all odds as they not only learn to speak English as a second language, they learn to read, write, and solve complex math problems! My fourth and fifth grade students come from all around the world. Many of my students have come from war-torn countries with families who seek a better life, and education, for their children. It is so amazing to watch my students quickly pick up on words and phrases within the English language! As they grow in their language development, my fourth graders are eager to learn to read and write. It is a tremendous challenge to address the needs of language learners at so many different levels of development, but I love it, and would not change a thing!

About my class
