My school is in rural Maine with 50%+ free lunch eligible, and 95 students pre-k through 8th grade. Our kids are mainly from families that work in the woods or in service jobs 25-50 miles away. Many are from single parent households. I am always looking for ways to inspire them to pursue an interest in furthering their educations, and since science is such an important field globally, I'm trying to improve my science teaching this year.
