My students are native Spanish speakers who are part of our Sheltered English Instruction classroom. Every student in my classroom is either new to the United States or has been in the country for a short period of time. Our goal is for them to learn English as they continue to learn the grade level content. My students are caring, collaborative learners who are eager to learn and strive when faced with challenges which stems from being a product of their challenging community in Massachusetts. It is truly amazing that despite being faced with many low economic community struggles along with the language barrier, these particular students aspire to greatness while helping those around them.
