My students come from loving homes where most parents don't speak English. Many parents work hard to put food on the table for their children and are not always there to help in the educational sense. Studies have shown students like mine need a great deal of extra help to catch up with other students their age. My students work hard with me and on their own to close that gap. Most of them truly want to learn and succeed in school and in life.
