Our K-5 charter school engages students in real-world learning. They have created their own miniature version of the greater society including having written their own Constitution and founding their own businesses. They run the bank, they are mentors to students who need more assistance, and they are working hard to improve their literate lives through frequent and lasting interaction with a wide variety of books in and outside of the classroom. Students at our school come from a wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Many students will never have the chance to use much technology outside of the classroom. Our classes are smaller than most public schools, which affords teachers the opportunity to work more closely with students, especially those in greater need of individualized attention. This is a spirited group of students with a passion for learning beginning to burn within!
