The public middle school students at MHAST come from low income communities from all over the Bronx, NY. Their school is new and replaces a failing middle school that was shut down last year. Most of the children are very creative and seem to gravitate to the arts. I am trying to expose them to as many different forms of art as possible. A year long photography exhibit with rotating images taken from their own neighborhoods would be a fabulous way to introduce the students to the wonderful world of photography.
