I am a kindergarten teacher at Elvira Elementary School in Tucson, Arizona. Everyday my kindergarteners are so excited to learn something new. Every year, the majority of my students enter our classroom not knowing their letters, colors, or shapes. When they leave me in May to start their new adventure into 1st grade, they are readers and writers. I have 22 wonderful kindergartners. We are a predominantly Hispanic school, with the majority of students qualifying for free or reduced price lunch.
