Many of my students come from homes where education is not a priority. Creating a comfortable, welcoming environment helps alleviate anxiety and harsh feelings about school. When students feel safe and welcomed at school, they show up. When students show up they succeed. When students succeed, everyone wins. Providing a safe, comfortable, non-threatening (desks have a negative connotation to many students ) environment for these kids will help them be more creative. Having the ability to create different learning spaces, and having the ability to easily move those spaces with the inflatable couches will help make the classroom open to many different types of activities. Creating avenues for students to taste success in an environment that historically has been unkind, and makes them feel unwelcome. Creative seating helps students be more comfortable, which in turn helps them focus.
