My students come from varied backgrounds, many of which are considered to make students "at risk" of graduating. Due to budget cuts an elementary school was closed and we were moved to a middle school campus. At our old elementary school we had a large garden that we used for learning daily. We NEED a garden and plants at our new school to really grow as students. We live in a rural area and many families make their living growing crops for sale. Gardening is a great way for parents and students to stay connected during the learning process.
