My students are a mix of 9th, 11th and 12th graders at an urban public high school just outside of Washington, DC. They are a bright and energetic bunch, deeply committed to their growth as readers and writers. Thanks to the generous donations of my friends and family, my students enjoy the benefits of an extensive classroom library, and as we embark on our study of literature this year, I want to provide them with a broader and more diverse range of texts and authors. Students need to see themselves reflected in the curriculum in order to learn!

About my class
