Our school has a culturally diverse student body of 1,700 from diverse economic backgrounds. 34% participate in the federal Free Lunch program. The 185-student Orchestra Program is one of the preeminent training grounds for young musicians in our area. By providing instruments to those whose families cannot afford them, we strive to narrow the gap in musical experience and achievement. The music program's budget is far from sufficient to keep up with the need. Our students help with this issue by playing in small groups for various events and participating in bake sales and car washes.
