How to describe my students. They are amazing, wonderful, strong scholars who overcome tremendous adversity in their lives with a clear focus on making it to college. We are an urban inner city high school that also had the distinct privilege in being an early college high school, where we challenge the students to do more than they've ever done before, many of whom are taking college classes in their junior or senior year. And most will be the first person in their family to ever attain the dream of going to college. I am with them every step of the way, from the freshman I teach to the seniors I hug and cry with as they get that diploma.
