I teach preschool special education in an urban and more than 75% free lunch school. My students all qualify for specially designed instruction as described by their individual education programs (IEPs). I provide services in the areas of social/emotional, adaptive/daily living, and cognitive development. I work with a team of an occupational therapist, physical therapist and speech/language therapist, to round out their services. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and social economic levels. I am very fortunate to work with these young kiddos and watch as they develop their skills. I often have two or three students who are diagnosed with Autism or other related disorders. I get tremendous joy when one of students begins to open up to the world around them and we get to see their personality in full display!
