My students are kind, eager, and enthusiastic about learning. Many are new to the United States and have never heard classic fairy tales like The Gingerbread Man or The Three Little Pigs. In second grade, we really need exposure to fluent readers, and practice reading aloud. Audio books are the perfect way to achieve this.
