As a teacher of English at a Title I school in Texas, it is essential that my students have every available resource at their disposal in my classroom, especially if they are to be successful on their STAAR exams. My junior high students come from many different backgrounds and ethnicities, each with a unique and individual story to tell. They are challenged daily with the goal of "rising to the top" in order to achieve their highest possible potential. Regardless of their lives outside of school and even though it sometimes stands in the way of their personal success, I feel it is important that my students be given EVERY opportunity to succeed despite race, social status, or hindrances at home.

About my class
