I have eight students with special needs. Each one is brilliant in their own way. They all have difficulties with reading and want to become better readers so desperately! We strive so hard to track our progress in reading in our self-contained classroom but seem to fall short. Each child in my classroom loves to listen and explore stories. They often become frustrated when they are unable to read the stories themselves. I see the small progress they make each day towards reaching their goal of reading but it is very hard for them to see.
