Teaching a video production class has technological challenges built-in. But one of those challenges shouldn't be lighting the scene! The power of storytelling is the power to share a piece of your soul. Many of my students share such deeply personal stories that deliver weighty emotions. Then their story gets lost in the darkness of a poorly lit setting. Most kids have a really great phone that handles video well, but they don't have access to some simple lighting support. My goal for this project is to acquire some adjustable lighting options that are simple to use, mobile, and flexible.
