My school has a very interesting make up. It is located in a middle to upper class neighborhood. We have an area that is section 8 apartments. Some students have more than one family living in one apartment. Parents have moved here to provide a quality education for their children. Our parent community is supportive of ALL students. We are a melting pot of many cultures. Most of our non-English speaking students are first generation immigrant children. They have the responsibility to help their families. A lot of families do not have technology in their home, so students being exposed to it for the first time at school. How exciting that students can make a connections between playing games and understanding how those games are made.
