My school is truly a kaleidoscope of cultures with a number of students from many different backgrounds including a number of new English learners. Many of our students are living in families who are below the poverty line and cannot afford the most basic of supplies. While it is not the teaching materials that do the teaching, students thrive on the sense of pride that comes with earning supplies from my classroom store and not needing to borrow from their teacher.
