My fourth-graders are active, curious and eager to learn, especially when the learning is hands-on and relevant. Every year we raise salmon from egg to fry to release into the San Joaquin River. Each summer I try to learn something new to add learning by experience into my teaching mix. My class includes neighborhood kids, students who have transferred in for a variety of reasons, and a few who choose us because of our because of our inclusion of students on the autism spectrum. We have an active PTA and Dads of Great Students group, too.
