My students are thoughtful, curious, and more capable than they sometimes realize. At 13 and 14, they are navigating identity and growing independence, yet they show up ready to try. I hold them to high standards because I believe in their potential. When expectations are clear and support is consistent, they rise. What makes them special is their willingness to take creative risks. Even when a drawing feels difficult, they revise, ask questions, and push themselves to improve. With the right tools and structure, they do more than complete assignments. They grow into disciplined, confident young artists who understand that skill comes from practice and patience.
