My students are from single parent homes, some are raised by grandparents because parents have lost rights due to drug abuse, foster children, and poverty level families. My school is a rural K-8 school of around 290 students. We are a close knit faculty but struggle to compete with neighboring schools who have iPad labs and iPads in every classroom. My students need to have the same opportunities to learn as other children their age. My classroom has only one computer for me for grading etc. Its 10 + years old and very slow. I am putting my student's needs first and am looking for iPads to use during center rotations to assist them in skills necessary to master kindergarten. I love my students and they are eager to learn, but at the moment are hinder with financial circumstances hindering our school in providing necessary technology items.
