We will be starting a new English Language Arts curriculum this year that will allow my students to not only have access to a plethora of texts, but will give them many opportunities to read and discuss books. However, all of my books are currently only in English. My mission is to ensure that my library is diverse and culturally responsive. My first step in meeting that goal is making sure I am giving my English Learners access to books in Spanish. I want to make sure that I am giving all of my students the same opportunities to read and discuss texts so that they can develop a love of reading.
