4th graders love to move! They love to sit on the floor, they love to stand at their seats, they LOVE when it is their turn to use one of the wobble seats that we have in our classroom. Sitting at a desk can be difficult for 10 year olds but sometimes it just can't be helped. There are times when it is necessary to be at a desk in order to focus on the work at hand. Bouncy bands allow for students to be at their seats but still be able to move. The Surf (portable lap desks) will allow students to be on the floor but still have a surface to work on. Having a class set of bouncy bands and portable lap desks will help me to provide a comfortable but focused classroom atmosphere for my students where they are able to move and find a seat that allows them to be the most productive. So what is a Bouncy Band? Bouncy bands consist of a rubber loop and a support pipe. The loops and pipes slide on the 2 front legs of the student's chair. The loops stretch across the bottom of the chair and provide the students with a place to bounce their feet. The movement helps students to relieve their anxiety, frustration or their need to be active. By donating to our project, you will be helping us to create a movable classroom. A classroom that is filled with students who are attentive and focused and, thus, more successful. We would truly appreciate your support in making this a reality. Thanks!
