I have 18 students in my First Grade class. We are a Title 1 school in Florida. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. We live in an area that is service oriented. It seems like several parents have two jobs and share the responsibility of child care by adjusting their schedules so that one parent is home while the other one is working. Several of the students are living with their grandparents. The majority of them have an average ability level. Most of my students receive free lunch. My students are young and active and get bored easily if they are not stimulated or motivated. They are all very sweet and innocent and believe in Santa Claus.
