I teach a class of eight amazing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders with autism. My students bring such joy to me each day--they are rambunctious, mysterious, and hilarious! All of my students have limited verbal skills, ranging from being able to say sentences with up to six words to not being able to vocalize any words and instead communicate through pictures. I love the challenge of meeting their variety of needs and working with them to help them achieve their potentials. Our school serves students from low-income households where students do not always have the means to access what will best help them educationally.
