My students are an eager bunch of diverse second graders! They show up daily and are eager to learn engaging and interesting lessons. They need exposure to hands on learning and technology. They are resilient students who attend school daily despite major life obstacles and difficulties. My students come from a low income community with limited resources. We are a Title One school with most of our students receiving reduced or free lunch. Because of this many of my students have had very little educational experiences outside of school and lack prior knowledge of certain concepts. Most of my students need extra support in order to meet their growth goals. My classroom is part of a STEM school in a school district that cannot provide us with the technology that is needed to help me facilitate academic growth using basic technology. Despite these facts, my students are developing into creative,collaborative learners who are energetic and committed to academic growth and their education.
