My students are 5th graders who are aged 9-11. They come from all different backgrounds such as military, low income, English Language Learners, and multicultural. Students in our area have been effected by the economy with house foreclosures and parents lost jobs. My class if full of bright, intelligent, and hardworking students. They work well together with team projects and respect each other. We have been learning the Essential 55 rules for life and follow them. My students are in sports, band, choir, and student council. They are caring and respectful students who enjoy learning as well as having fun! Cottonwood Elementary was awarded an A+ rating from the state of Arizona, we have continued to have an Excelling label for over 4 years, and we recently received and A rating with Arizona's new state rating. The school is involved with their community. Cottonwood involves technology in all aspects of student learning as well. We are an amazing school with amazing students!
