I teach in a rural school division in southeastern Virginia. Many of my students come from low income homes and receive free and reduced lunch. However, even with circumstances against them, my students come to school excited to learn. They strive to do their best and are motivated by positive reinforcement from their teachers. This school year we have a total of 40 students. Among those students are several gifted and talented as well as several who receive special education services through Individual Education Programs. No matter their level of performance our students are hard working individuals who are there to learn and do their best 100% of the time.
