My music classroom is very Orff centered, meaning each child learns through doing, not just watching. Instruments are an intricate part of this. Every child loves to play the drums. It is a great stress reliever and team building activity. Right now I only have one tubano so in order to play we have to take turns which is difficult to do in only a 50 minute class. With this new set of tubanos I will be able to get many more lessons done in the short time I see each class. Drumming is fully interactive, students use their mind and body to help release emotions and stress in a positive way. It also fulfills state and national educational standards for Performing Arts, Music, and Physical Education.
