Unfortunately, as resilient, talented, and persevering my students are, sometimes they don't get the help they need. Coming from broken homes, low-income families, and in some cases, no home at all, these students need someone in their corner helping them along. The music program at our school has become a safe haven for students who find it difficult to understand and excel in basic subjects such as Math and Science. It's because of their ability to take part in a band that they are excited about coming to school everyday. A school not only has the responsibility of educating students, but also to make students enjoy being educated. Music is able to do just this for our students.

About my class
